Ensure your Push-Lock fittings work every time!

When people contact us about a problem with their Push-Locks (it doesn't seem to happen as much with Pull-Locks), 99% of the time it’s an installation error.
The Push-Lock is a little harder to work with than the Pull-Lock, but sometimes you can’t get around using a Push-Lock if you want to use a swageless stop end fitting. For Push-Locks purchased separately, a general installation guide hard copy is typically sent out to all new customers, and is available anytime via .pdf at our web site. For Push-Locks included in retail kits, hard copy installation instructions are included with each and every kit we send out, and are available in .pdf online.

All that said, who reads directions? So, chances are, if you’re having trouble with your Push-Lock fitting not holding, it’s because you didn’t push the cable into the Push-Lock (while rotating it clockwise) until it bottoms out. This means removing the other end of the cable from its tensioning device, so you have the slack necessary to push the cable all the way into the Push-Lock fitting. Once “buried”, reattach the tensioning end and proceed to tension it down. The tensioning action will set the wedges in the Push-Lock into the cable, and the more the cable is tensioned the more the wedges will bite into the cable.

We find that when people follow directions, they are really happy with our Push-Lock product line.
